G. R. S. Mead

1863–1933

George Robert Stow Mead (1863-1933) was an English writer, translator, and editor who served as private secretary to Helena Blavatsky and became a leading scholar of Gnosticism and Hermetic literature within the Theosophical movement. He founded the Quest Society and edited its journal, producing English translations and studies of Gnostic and Hermetic texts that remain widely cited in the study of these traditions today.
